At the suggestion of a neighbor, the family hired Black Birch Design + Build, owned and operated by principals Justin Roberts and Matthew Chaperon, to fulfill their vision for an Adirondack Craftsman-style cottage.

Regional Feature: Spencer Haight Custom Homes, LLC.

Standing on a one-acre lot, with ravines and forests in the back, the home’s style defies easy definition. “We were both drawn to multilevel Prairie-style houses,” she says. “And I love Mountain-Moderns like you see in Utah. They’re very clean, with a mix of warm woods and lots of black — kind of a rustic modern with a woodsy cabin feel.”

Regional Feature: Sperling Construction

Both Visbeen and Sperling credit the homeowner with being instrumental in the design of the house as well as its interior finishes. From the crisscross brass inserts from the UK to the curved corners wrapped in tall wainscoting that soften the edges of a narrow passageway to the lamps and other décor, she brought it all together.

Regional Feature: Conquest Builders

A complete, down-to-the-studs remodel and addition by Conquest Builders, the home went from a dark and closed-off three-bedroom, two-and-a-half-bath weekend cottage to an open and welcoming five-bedroom, four-and-a-half-bath haven for family and friends to gather.

Regional Feature: Roberts Development Group

Cathy had a very specific vision for the look and feel of the home, inside and out. This vision included stunning eye appeal from both the front and the lake side of the house. Throughout the project, the McCormicks were able to work with Roberts and his team, onsite and from afar, to bring every detail to fruition.

Regional Feature: Lifestyle Builders and Design, LLC

Nestled into a country setting in Midland but just around the corner from the conveniences of town, a right-sized house boasts much more than it seems. Built in a community aimed at offering an active and independent lifestyle to the aging population, this Craftsman-style home stands for independence, privacy, and worry-free living.

Regional Feature: Endura Performance Homes

They say that true beauty shines from within, and Ryan McCoon of Endura Performance Homes certainly holds that to be true. When he talks about this stunning 3,308-square-foot home that won Judge’s Choice Best Overall in the Parade of Homes, he always reverts to his passion: energy efficiency and a healthy home.

Regional Feature: Sherwood Custom Homes

After interviewing several builders, the homeowners partnered with Jeff Sherwood of Sherwood Custom Homes. “I loved all of their thoughts, and we were right there dreaming with them,” says Sherwood, referring to the extensive collection of ideas the homeowners brought to him.
