Both Visbeen and Sperling credit the homeowner with being instrumental in the design of the house as well as its interior finishes. From the crisscross brass inserts from the UK to the curved corners wrapped in tall wainscoting that soften the edges of a narrow passageway to the lamps and other décor, she brought it all together.

Focus On: Eagle Street Market

Eagle Street Market in the heart of downtown South Haven is the answer to any antique shopper’s dream. This giant indoor market spans 9,500 square feet and is home to more than 50 antique vendors. Fittingly, the building itself is more than 100 years old and was one of the first Ford dealerships in the state.

Lest We Forget, Inc.

We dream of a world where we give peace a chance, of a future where we fight no more wars. But the wars of our history must not be forgotten – their legacies are too important, their personal sacrifices too great."To brighten the future, we must illuminate the past" is the operating principle of Lest We Forget, a nonprofit association established by a group of veterans.

Regional Feature: Roberts Development Group

Cathy had a very specific vision for the look and feel of the home, inside and out. This vision included stunning eye appeal from both the front and the lake side of the house. Throughout the project, the McCormicks were able to work with Roberts and his team, onsite and from afar, to bring every detail to fruition.

PeaceJam Foundation

PeaceJam Foundation, a Colorado-based international organization supporting young people working for peaceful change, was founded by two Michigan natives, Dawn Engle and Ivan Suvanjieff. As Suvanjieff left his apartment to go to work one day in 1996, he saw four young boys carrying guns, which was commonplace in that area at that time.

Regional Feature: AVB

Master Builder Jack Gesmundo of AVB had one objective: design and build a lakeside cottage that takes advantage of 140 feet of lake frontage and unbeatable views of Gull Lake while maintaining the quality and workmanship that AVB is known for. Mission complete.

Soltysiak’s style of ceramic artwork is organic and earthy. She employs a wide variety of firing techniques -- wood fired, stoneware, Raku, smoke fired, pit fired, salt and soda fired -- and each creates a distinct look in the finished work.
