Regional Feature: Impact Building & Renovation

Adam and Kelly Vertican of Impact Building & Renovations originally built this Mountain Craftsman home for their own growing family. But as is often the case with people in the building profession, they got another idea and built something else. So, another family hit the jackpot with this one. The very same passion, detail, and care are evident in each home that Impact builds.

Greg England and Ben Van Dort, co-owners of 42 North Custom Homes in Holland, and developer/designer Dennis Jacobs had a simple goal for their project on Lake Macatawa: to make a splash by razing a traditional 1940s home and replacing it with a three-story Modern Contemporary.

Regional Feature: Black Birch Design + Build

At the suggestion of a neighbor, the family hired Black Birch Design + Build, owned and operated by principals Justin Roberts and Matthew Chaperon, to fulfill their vision for an Adirondack Craftsman-style cottage.

Regional Feature: Spencer Haight Custom Homes, LLC.

Standing on a one-acre lot, with ravines and forests in the back, the home’s style defies easy definition. “We were both drawn to multilevel Prairie-style houses,” she says. “And I love Mountain-Moderns like you see in Utah. They’re very clean, with a mix of warm woods and lots of black — kind of a rustic modern with a woodsy cabin feel.”
