Out and About: Arts, Science, and Sports “Team Up” in Mid Michigan

Renowned for its trademark of uniting science and art, the Alden B. Dow Museum in Midland is adding athletics to the line-up this fall, with the STEM Center Science of Sports exhibit September 14 through January 5, 2020.

Focus On: Charles W. Howard Santa Claus School

Little did the Valents know that this was the Charles W. Howard Santa Claus School, which the dean of students had moved from New York to Bay City after Howard died in 1966. Tom was a natural Santa, and Holly the perfect Mrs. Claus. They became very involved with the school, and, in 1987, Tom became its third dean of students. Tom and Holly moved the school to Midland, and the rest is history.

One customer was so pleased with a remodeling project Orvosh Builders had done that she decided to bring them back for her dream project - completion of her 3,200-square-foot basement that hadn’t been touched in the 15 years since the home was built.
